Dr Edward Curry-Hyde

Edward is the founder of UniForum and Cubane Consulting that provides the UniForum service offering. He has over 20 years experience assisting boards, CEOs and senior executives to make strategic business decisions and implement large scale business transformations. His grounding includes nine years with Booz & Co (previously Booz Allen Hamilton) where he led their insurance consulting practice and was a member of the Asia-Pacific leadership team.

Before that Edward spent seven years working as an academic and research scientist in Europe and Australia. In the process he built a large research group with industrial and competitive grant funding. He is party to international patents and is the author to over 40 scientific publications.

Edward founded Cubane Consulting in 2003 as a boutique consultancy providing support to Executive teams leading large internally supported business transformations. He founded UniForum in 2009 as a service offering of Cubane Consulting.

Edward has an MBA (1995) with distinction from INSEAD, France, a PhD in Industrial Chemistry (1986) from UNSW, and a BSc in Chemical Engineering (1983) from the University of Natal, South Africa. He holds a Company Directors Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

In his spare time Edward enjoys cycling, trekking the mountains with his family, the occasional fly-fishing trip, and playing clarinet with his family chamber music group. He competed at an international level in white-water slalom kayaking in late 70’s and early 80’s.

Wayne Henderson

Wayne HendersonWayne is the Managing Director ANZ in Cubane Consulting. He has consulted on operations and strategy at CEO and Board level for over 25 years and has worked in the UK, mainland Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

Having started his career as an Operational Research Analyst, building forecasting systems for Cadbury Schweppes in the UK, Wayne progressed through supply chain management in glass and meter manufacturing before joining Booz Allen & Hamilton (now Strategy&) in Sydney, Australia in 1990. After seven years at Booz Allen, he founded and managed ARPOS consultants for seven years, then returned to the UK where he worked as an independent consultant for 12 years.

In addition to his consulting work in the UK, he has acted as Trustee and Company Secretary to the Limbless Association, chaired an advisory panel for the British Polio Foundation, advised and co-chaired the All Party Parliamentary Limb Loss Group and led policy development at the Conservative Disability Group.

A through-hip amputee from the age of 16, Wayne eventually mastered the art of downhill skiing at 36 and this remains his guilty pleasure. His less guilty ones involve spending time with his family, listening to music, going to the theatre and reading.

Wayne read Physics and Philosophy at Oxford, gained an M.Sc in Operational Research at Lancaster and an MBA at Macquarie, where he was a Knott Scholar and completed his course at INSEAD, France.

Chris Harmsen

Chris is the General Manager, Client Services with Cubane Consulting and has worked with UniForum since its founding in 2009. Chris has over 20 years experience as a business operations strategy consultant, working for ARPOS as a Director and Founding Partner, for Booz & Co (Booz Allen Hamilton), and as an independent advisor.

Throughout his consulting career Chris has focused on designing and delivering major performance improvements via both strategy and operations, and through deep engagement within and across major public and private sector organisations.

Chris has also held senior management roles in manufacturing and marketing organisations, including Managing Director of Australia’s largest production yacht manufacturer, Sydney Yachts, and Chief Executive of leading sports marketer Grand Prix Sailing.

In the 1990s, Chris spent several years as a professional yacht racer, with two America’s Cup campaigns and several world and national titles to his credit. Chris is also a past class record holder in the Hawkesbury Classic Kayak Marathon.

Chris earned an MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management and holds a BSc and DipEd from the University of Tasmania.

Brett Rooney

Brett leads the UniForum survey operations team. He has been assisting private and public sector organisations in delivering critical performance improvement benefits for over 15 years. Brett’s experience, prior to joining UniForum in 2009, includes consulting on operations improvement and strategy initiatives and senior management roles in financial services and telecommunications. Brett began his career in corporate banking.

Brett earned an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a BScFS in International Economics from Georgetown University, USA.

Vicky Moore

Vicky leads a team of developers managing and developing databases, BI tools and Survey Tools. Vicky has over 15 years experience as a software developer and systems analyst, specialising in databases and their use in support of on-line applications. Vicky brings extensive experience in development, testing and implementation. In her role with UniForum she is responsible for the development of the reporting tools, survey data management tools and the management of UniForum databases.
